Brody Saccoccia (Steubenville)
Brody Saccoccia picked up two big wins at the D2 State Duals this weekend. He defeated D2 #3 Benecio Torres of Wauseon in the first round, and then took out returning 2x state champion Mitchell Younger of Watterson in the final round of the tournament.
This marks Saccoccia’s third win over a returning state champion this season. Brody previously defeated D1 2x state champion, Ty Wilson (Dublin Scioto), and D3 state champion Reese Stephen (Barnesville).
After his impressive weekend, Saccoccia took over the #1 spot at 150-pounds in division 2.

Phoenix Contos (Waite)
Phoenix Contos recorded 5 pins on his way to a Jim McCumber Invitational championship this weekend. He recorded two top-15 wins and pinned returning state champion Abe Hermes of Edison in the finals.

Charles Curtis picked up three top-20 wins at the division 1 state duals, including a 13-8 decision over state runner-up Kade Brown of St. Edward. Curtis helped lead the Panthers to a second place team finish.
